All the competitors sites check the cooks. Mium has a disclaimer saying she has no responsibility for this. Do we need any legal stuff in regards to revenue earned? People are offering a service to others?

How do I edit my profile?

If you don’t have an account, create one first by clicking on the Sign Up. After your account has been created, click the dropdown beside your name on the top right of the page. Then select profile and click on Edit.

How do I reset my password?

Click on Log In and then click on Forgot your password.

How do I unsubscribe from emails?

At the bottom of the email you receive in your inbox, click on unsubscribe.

How do I delete my account?

Send us a message on the Contact Us page and we will delete it for you.

How do I contact a cook / guest?

Click on the chef’s profile picture and then click on Message.

How Safe is Ourhomecook?

Ourhomecook has taken steps to create one of the most confortable dining experiences available. Information on our site is protected and encrypted to ensure the privacy of all users. We use a third party payment (Paypal) to ensure secure payment transactions. We allow private communication between guests and cooks, refunds due to cancellations and online support as long as you use the ourhomecook platform.

Keeping transactions and bookings on ourhomecooks ensures that you uphold the terms and conditions. Any transactions outside the ourhomecook platform are done are your own risk.

Do I need to create an account?

Yes! To book a cook, to host an event or communicate with others on the website you need to create an account. A profile allows everyone in the ourhomecook community to get to know a little bit about you, your culinary history and why you love food so much!

How can I bring Ourhomecook to my city?

Ourhomecook strives to bring communities together from all across the world. Simply create an account and if there is a cook in your community feel free to use the service. If you know anyone who would like to become a part of the ourhomecook community please have them join here.

Do I have to have an account to book an event?

Yes in order to book an event both guests and cooks must be register on ourhomecook.

What we do?

Ourhomecook is an online community that allows people to meet cooks. Customers can book a meeting with a cook for a great menu or register as guests for a hosted event.

How does it work to book event?

First all users (customers and cooks) will need to be registered (free). Browse the various menus options available in your city of choice and schedule your event. The cook will be notified of the booking and will arrive on the scheduled time to begin the event. Check out our how it works section to find out more!

What do I need to register?

Registration is super easy and FREE. All you need is you name, email and location. It takes less than a minute!

How much does it cost?

Registration to ourhomecook is FREE. The price of each menu will be shown on listings (please multiply by the number of guests). The price includes all the costs required to run a successful event including the food, cook and all taxes. Tips are voluntary and greatly appreciated.

What do I need to do once I make a booking?

The only thing you need to do is get ready to enjoy your unique dining experience. We advise all our cooks to bring all the supplies they will need to run a successful event. They will bring all the food and tools they need to ensure a successful event. Cooks may require access to a kitchen, utensils, appliances and other tools to create the menu.

How do customers and cook communicate?

We encourage communication between customers and cooks regarding any questions that you may have using the messaging system available on ourhomecook. Contact information will be provided once bookings are confirmed.

When do I pay? How do I pay?

Payments are taken at time of booking for the menu multiplied by the number of guests. You can pay using your credit card. Payments are done through a secure third party payment service (Paypal). The website is SSL encrypted to ensure all data to and from the website is secured.

What If I need to cancel my booking?

Our cancellation policy allows customers and hosts to cancel their reservations up to 48 hours prior to the start time of the event with a 100% money back guarantee. Within 48 hours of the event only 80% of the original booking price will be refundable (20% cancellation charge). After the start time of the event the payment will be non-refundable.

What are cooks responsible for?

Cooks are responsible to bring all the food, tools and any other special items in order to ensure a successful event. The cooks are encouraged to prepare, cook and serve the food to guests. After the event they will be responsible to clean up.

My cook refuses to clean up or serve us the food. What do I do?

Ourhomecook is designed as a meeting place for cooks and customers. We have adopted a review system so that customers and guests can provide feedback on the quality of food and service provided by the cook. Cooks who refuse to provide the services we suggest may result in poor reviews, low bookings and possible account removal from ourhomecook.

Can a menu be modified?

Absolutely! We encourage all guests and customers to contact cooks with any special requests or dietary restrictions before the event. We advise giving cooks notice well in advance of the start time in order to ensure cooks can accommodate the requests.

I’m a professional chef can I register for ourhomecook?

Yes! Ourhomecook is designed for people to meet cook of all skill levels. Culinary experts will be given a special icon to denote they are registered chefs to showcase their experience in the culinary field.

How many menus can I post?

Cooks can post as many menus as they like. Ourhomecook is all about sharing the different foods of the world with your community.

Can customers/cooks be removed from ourhomecook?

Anyone registered will be required to conform to the terms and conditions outlined. Cooks given poor ratings, poor food quality, abuse of terms and conditions or unannounced cancelations will be subject to termination.

How do you handle complaints?

We take complains from both customers and cooks very seriously. We will contacts both customers and cooks in order to understand the situation and resolve the complaint. Depending on the nature of the complain a full refund may be issued and customer or cook may be removed from the platform.

Do you offer delivery?

Ourhomecook does not allow for delivery options given to strict food preparation guidelines in each province.
